I am not sure why they decided on a combo trial (you really should read the posts by Seel, who I followed over here, and also those by TOB) but I am aware they consider Trimesta to be their "legacy" program left over after they had changed management as Kirk had invested.
I agree that Trimesta could be a major boon to many women suffering from MS and hope TEVA or others will be buying or licensing that drug. Also agree the new programs are exciting. Only here since the stock offering in 12/2013 knocked the price down and here for the long term.
BTW, with the handle "black cat" why the non-black cat icon?
So...trimesta is estriol. Can only be used on women.BioIdentical hormone long prescribed for compounding. Very little hope of any protective ip wrap if not combined with a drug. Copaxone great choice for combo study because copaxones lack of year one efficacy well known, so combo trial would allow estriol efficacy to be clearly measured. Voskhul has been working with estriol forever, thru UCLA with grants and support from ms foundation. Having SYN in its old incarnation offer support for drug trial allowed her to continue development. MS foundation footed bill. SYN able to secure ip on combos. Win-win for SYN.
