Do an estimate of the option premiums generated by investor expectations for a higher IDCC beta than actually happened in the past few years, and then let's see if you need to ask your question again.
Based on what this casual observer can figure out, writing(i.e., "selling") IDCC options has been a serious "money pump" kind of activity for some very savvy folks over the past few years. Go figure who those "folks" might be.
