Patton's hiring is almost "joke status within Wave"--does that need interpretation?

hi dig,

looking at his background, cypher described patton as a "serial intimidator" here: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=107343389

his next post said this: "This new Guy Patton is more recent, from what I gather in the last month .. From the folks I talk to. It's reached almost a kind of Joke status within Wave right now.. booking odds on the first harassment case in HR."

i interpreted this to mean he has already been breaking balls in his first few weeks. but you may be right that cypher is just speculating.

personally i see no reason to suppose a person with a military background will have the skillset required. it's like saying someone who is good at rearing rabbits will be a fine accountant. different things.

people will tend to talk about leadership experience. but i don't subscribe to this view of the military. i see it as a hierarchy in which followership is ingrained from the top down. this is a system which works for people who do war. but a commercial structure in which ideas are being harvested and redirected has to be rather different. wave's cleverest people with the best ideas are probably in the development segment. they may even be junior folks.

you want to create a marketplace of ideas.

i know you have said the same thing. i am just saying that this chap has a different sort of experience. and i don't have the obeisance thing going with the military that some have.

are there some successful tech company generals out there that i am missing? i see them as having a different expertise which likely won't easily translate. switching cultures is one of the hardest things to do.
