The voice of reason.

I agree. I was astonished to see a post denying that he is dead. I guess if you google "Robert Demeger death" and don't get an obit, it must not be true... oh, yes Wikipedia and Imdb don't have a date of death... therefore he must not be dead.

Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Jim Morrison are all still alive btw...lol

Anyways... it is not bad to question everything, to look at different perspectives and not crucify someone who has an opposing view as yourself.

And (if you haven't noticed in my posts) keep a sense of humor.

Cheers!

Keep on keeping on Afford.

Afford - I'm a skeptic so I question everything unless proven otherwise. I wasn't going to rely on a few tweets to confirm or deny based on the fact that he's a fairly well-known figure with no obituary nor news station picking up on his story regardless of whether he was in this trial or not. Still seems out of the ordinary (and maybe it's the family protecting his privacy wishes), but obviously it's true. I've learned that Twitter can spread false rumors like wild fire.

I think your bringing up the topic allowed others to further pursue and confirm on their own.

I do not think that "we are seriously losing our perspective", as you conclude.
There is a big difference between seeing some rumor starting up on Twitter, versus something being published on various news wires, such as when NWBO may issue a PR. For example, when the PIM news under EAMS was recently released, this info could almost immediately be found on various reliable news sites. Quite different from a rumor that is started on Twitter.
Even if it is "just" the spoken word of LP or LG, I would give this higher initial credibility than a random Twitter post.
I do not agree that there is "a double standard here". The iHub members here have a tendency to get excited about good news, but then they also tend to delve into issues further with critical thinking and good questions come up and are discussed.
IMHO.
