Someone explained Genetic Algorithms to me a few months ago as they were being considered by one of the groups at work.
There are times when I think that another interesting approach would be to just leave a machine on the net that I cuold use when I needed it. I really don't mind an 8-pound laptop though lately I've been buying more desktop equipment. Even thought about buying a desktop for the office though it would have to be cheap. I could just toss in another vid card into my office machine but I'd still like a machine to put my own stuff on.
Is she going to run Win64 on it?
One other thing was that I was considering dumping Kanotix on my machine (I never use it) and using VMWare. I'm just a bit worried that dumping the partition will mess up GRUB and my ability to boot Windows.
CJ - Have y'all seen the interesting article on "genetic programming" in Pop Sci this month? John Koza sort of combined genetic algorithms and AI to bring about some interesting results. The system has already produced one patented item, a more effective (microwave?) antenna.
