You said

"And this has *what* to do with Q&A about iHub?"

I think a LOT of people would like to know that iHub is a secure place to go Bob.

For information like this to be shared here and then asked questions about, is something that I would think that I would think the whole iHub community would want to know, along with your response to it.

The only reason that someone might not want this here is because they might be protecting someone like Vendit.

Does iHub want to protect us from people like him and others?

I sure hope so.

I think it is of great concern. If one has already shown a propensity for using his/her computer knowledge for destructive purposes a person might have a cause for concern if one is using a cable modem.
You having that information is different than a person with a nefarious purpose gaining that information because of a redirect on a profile.

"Any internet site you go to, whether directly or by fetching graphics from it, can log your IP address. It's the nature of the internet."

Right. I accept the fact that Ihub can log my IP address anytime I access the site, but third parties should not be able to. What I just read, is that someone who puts graphics into their thread ( the way Jenna does - just using her as the example I though of first ) will also be able to log the IP address that accesses the graphics. I think that's a good reason to not allow user's embedded html to automatically be displayed. If I want to see someone's charts or donkey pictures, I'll click on links in the posts.

And besides, the pics are bandwidth hogs, not everyone has cable.
