Saw the video--Papelbon got 7 games...West is abrasive---probably PO'd that Papelbon made him stand out there an extra 1/2 hour giving up 4 runs---but I really don't know what West was supposed to do in this case--Paps had his head against West's brim twice--I would have got him out of my face also...
The umpires are borderline out of control. Umpires used to walk away from players and ignore dugouts. Now they go after players and dugouts looking for an argument or a fight. I also have a problem with them fraternizing with the players. Back in the day umpires stayed to themselves in between innings. Somewhere along the line they think that they are part of the show. No one pays to see an umpire
