"plausible that the lobbying group could have been the impetus for every one of those events" .... Hmmm, an interesting thought, but I don't think so and here is why:
According to the shareholder PR, it was done by IDCC longs who are bullish. Conversly, some of the other events seem to support a bearish mentality.
I note that the bearish oriented items roughly correspond to the recent runup in IDCC share price, so IMO, the bearish items, if that is what they are, may be from folks that truly do want a lower stock price.
Or maybe the seemingly bearish events, e.g. the WSJ article, are actually neutral as to orientation and the timing is all a coincidence.
I really don't know if all these events are connected or not but there do seem to be very different reasons for each event.
