Peg,

The main ingredient in most fingernail polish removers is acetone, and it is probably the most volatile of all solvents available to the general public.

If you buy a quart of it and never open it, in about a year or so it will evaporate and leave you with an empty can. Must evaporate through the pores in the metal, who knows.

Acetone will remove any solvent based product that I know of, including two component epoxies and urethanes. Like Soxie, I wouldn't consider drinking it though, it would murder your liver.

In addition, it is readily absorbed thru the skin, so I would use it sparingly.
