The cop that shot Brown was not aware of the robbery and was not pursuing Brown because of the robbery but only because he was walking in the middle of the street.
Michael Brown doesn't strike me as a poor hapless teenager but instead he was a rather large brutish thug. He didn't deserve killing but his being pulled out of the gene pool won't leave a ripple.
