Really? I can buy AMD's AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ @ 2.4 GHZ on Newegg for $630.00. Where can I buy the 2.66GHz Conroe?

Given this, wouldn't it be a good time to load puts on AMD?

The AMD and Intel boards at Ihub are interesting as the number
of posts actually related to making money on the stocks is tiny.
There is a lot of good fundamental stuff, mainly related to
news events.

Outside of a few traders here, though, I wonder if anyone has
made any money this year. The $comp is up over 5%, the S&P up
around 2.5% since the beginning of the year. AMD is up about
9% from the beginning of the year though I think that most
folks with long-term holdings took profits at higher levels.
So presumeably, those that had AMD at the beginning of the
year and took profits around $40 have done well.

Those holding INTC are down about 21% and I get the feeling
that they would be willing to sustain a loss of up to 40%.
This is odd behaviour to me (unless the potential reward in
a short period of time justified it) but I guess it makes a
market.
