I don’t buy this explanation entirely. MON has said on numerous occasions that it makes about same amount of money per acre, on average, from soybeans as it does from corn, assuming that growers are using the latest-generation seed offerings.

I don’t see why this tradeoff should be materially different for DD as compared to MON, so I infer that DD has lost some market share to MON in US corn. This share loss was predicted one month ago, based on MON's FY3Q14 results (#msg-103802291).
