Snowblow:I Just Don't Think NOK/Samsung Revenues Are Priced-In
Sure the back payment is a one time thing and I don't think anyone expects the forward going payments to equal that in any one fell swoop. I don't think it is clear how long 2G revenues will continue--HG said there is limited 'transparency' to the next few years. But thank goodness IDCC is positioned to derive revenues from evolving technologies and has essential IP in various modes.
You can read the annual report and other information about the company. They expect to deliver a stream of revenues on an ongoing basis. And they've made it clear that they intend to be paid for their IP and infringers aren't going to get away with it as they did in the past. Patents are stronger, better documented and their legal team is top notch.
I just don't see several hundred million in revenues priced into the current stock price, or even lower but recurring revenue streams.
Actually modelling IDCC revenues has always been difficult or impossible. It is one reason that future revenues aren't priced in. In addition, there is some uncertainty about Samsung and NOK revenues--but IMHO it is a not a question of if, but when, and my guess would be sooner rather than later--but that's pretty vague I know.
I think your points are well taken though and certainly valid.
