Exactly! Once they have had the advantage of glassware, they are going to expect it, and be willing to pay for it. I cannot tell you how big I think this CCPS deal announcement is. And it is not even a SPIHF PR, it is a third party report. The Folks who NEED Glassware capabilities are going to see the reports and this thing will largely sell itself.

They can't really put GW in their hardware units YET, though Sphere did say they were developing a chip. I can see GOOG putting the software in their App store, giving everyone the option to buy a subscription to Glassware.

But to be fair, most people who buy Chromebooks buy the unit knowing what it does. Understanding that it doesn't have the Microsoft Operating System (and more importantly the expense that comes along with it). Its sometimes marketed as the Anti-Microsoft product, but I understand what you are saying. The more its able to do, the more value a customer receives.

I also see the Chesterfield County School system model being duplicated many times. In the Education setting, for now. More to follow :-)

I would think that ANY laptop producer who wants a piece of the large education pie would need to have Glassware from now on in order to compete with Chrombook. Not sure though if Apple's MacBook would be able to compete in that very budget constrained arena as clearly described in the CCPS article.
