Good for you. For me there are two skills that are necessary (but not sufficient, a degree of luck is necessary) to stay a survivor and perhaps become profitable speculating on WS.

The first is psychological skill: the ability to know/recognize one's own bias(es), to avoid them and to learn from one's mistakes.

The second is cognitive. The era of the internet has its positives and negatives. The positive is the widespread information available to the retailer which in its own way is also a negative.

Cognitive skill or ability enables a retailer like myself to differentiate the wheat from the chaff and avoid drowning from the information noise.

However it is my personal opinion that not everyone needs to graduate from MIT or Berkeley to have the necessary background to tell BS from the facts. My lame substitution is that "you don't need to be smart, only smart enough to know who is smart and who is not and listen to those who are" :)
