Spec29...You're scaring me, man...

"They think the reserve may be up to 100 miles long to go along with the rumored over 800 feet of net pay zone."

Only 100 miles? I think this is subtle bashing since we all were expecting the whole GOG to be part of the same pay zone. LOL

Too good to be true?

OT looking at the fault lines and thinking about all the oil that possibly could be down there kind of feels like we all have the golden ticket. i try to keep calm and un-emotional about this, but it is just so darn exciting.

can anyone say play of the century???

Spec,
That size of find would correspond to how many Billions of Barrels? All speculative of course.

Thanks

Spec....that kind of a find would certainly make things interesting. It would also explain some of todays buying. Gotta love those thoughts.

Mark...lets hope the JDA does put out a PR regarding the OBO find on Monday. Thanks again for the ***UPDATE***

It appear the major fault line runs completely through B2 and B4, partially in B3, and crosses B6 slightly, and does extrend up to the OPL. It doesn't run through B1. So, if Chevron drills in B1, and it's on the outskirts of this soon to be legendary find, and /chevrons engineers are nonplussed and scratching their heads, imagine what happens if you put the drill bit right down on the fault line.

The too good tp be true MAY BE TRUE

#36217 RE: Spec29 #36188

Can anyone make an educated argument about how such a gigantic find may affect the prize of oil, and how a drop in oil prize may affect the profit for recovering oil from deep-sea wells? Reason I am asking this question is a simple supply-demand scenario. I assume that lnd-based oil producers would drop their prize per barrel in order to stay competitive, which would reduce the profit for deep-sea recovery of oil.
