First of all, please use all means to prevent Jim from abandoning ship. I don't blame him, but his leaving would help no one.His recent post relating his conversation with Guy Hicks is only his latest example of what this board should be all about. Jim is far above A-1 in every way.
The significant problem experienced by this Board, which debilitates it severely and prevents the participation of good contributors, might be cleared up by applying the "80:20" Pareto Principle: a minority of input produces the majority of results. And if the input is bad, then so are the results.
In other words: simply get rid of the minority of incredibly disruptive, insulting, negative contributors. Placed in jail, they have historically proven they learned nothing when they return. They are inveterate recidivists.
Any income lost from their departure would probably be more than offset by new activity by others who are presently put off. We are talking about no more than 10 people who are screwing it up for all the rest.
