Highlights
ICSC-Goldman's same-store sales index has been hitting some turbulence the last month and especially the last two weeks, with a drop of 2.8 percent in the June 7 week nearly reversing a 2.9 percent surge in the prior week. But the year-on-year rate has been less volatile, down only 1 tenth in the latest week to a very strong plus 3.0 percent rate that is right in line with trend. The 4-week average for the year-on-year rate is at plus 2.7 percent and little changed from the month-ago comparison. Redbook, which has also been showing strength, will be posted on the Econoday calendar later this morning at 8:55 a.m. ET.
