bluebird bio uses a deactivated hiv virus. apparently deactivated hiv viruses are very good at getting into cells,especially immune cells, and delivering genes. still I would be a bit squeamish when it came time to have them injected. it seems that many therapies would be more effective if science could just find a way to more effectively deliver them. changing subjects, i read somewhere that blood from a young rat makes old rats young again. now all i need is a 20 yr old willing to give me a few pints.
