Right, but what are they covered for? A $6000+ deductible that wont cover precrips.

There are a set of standards that all the health plans have to meet and there are many choices as to the deductible you choose.

Why don't you do some research.

Until defuctible is met isnt much help for a low wage earner who doesnt qualify for medicaid.

Touching! So now you care about the low wage earner who can't afford the deductible but think the old way was better when they had no insurance at all?

Repub logic never fails to amaze.

Sadly some will be better off on medicaid.

Give up already Extel. You can't win this one. Low income people get subsidies and qualify for premium assistance. A single person making up to $28,000 qualifies for an Enhanced Silver plan. This normally has a $500 deductible but, in addition to subsidies that cover most of the premium, they also qualify for assistance in covering the deductible and co-pays. In other words, their healthcare isn't free like Medicaid but it's very, very low cost.

There is no $6,000 deductible. The Bronze plans have a $5,000 deductible and cost low income people as little as $1/month. All preventive care is free, which means you can get colonoscopys, mammograms, pap tests, etc. at no cost to you. So if you're in reasonably good health and don't want to pay the premium for a silver plan you can take your chances on Bronze. At worst case you'll have a maximum of about $6,000 out of pocket but you won't have to go bankrupt like you would today.

As for Medicaid, tell me, would you rather have free healthcare or no healthcare. Why don't you try giving up your medical insurance and let's see how you feel about Obamacare in a couple of years. Good luck with that.
