It is not uncommon for visitors to forums to have their IP address identified during their visits. In that regard the PVEC forum is no different than any other forum out there.

What IS uncommon is for the paid staff of a public company to scrutinize IP addresses of those who merely read a company forum with a corporate goal of attempting to identify and expose people who post criticism of the company.

Kerry has made it clear that identifying certain company critics (including me) is a priority. She has asked shareholders to forward to her all information including PMs they have regarding her targeted list of online critics.

She thought she had identified me and posted what she believed to be my real name, husband's name, location and employer information. She even sent one of the threatening (intended to be intimidating) emails she has sent to me addressed to "Mrs. G." Fortunately for me, she was wrong, but not for lack of trying.

People should be aware that Kerry and Jason scrutinize IP addresses and will use such information to try to identify anyone who they believe is critical of the company. There is no "privacy policy" with the PVEC website. They will use your IP address any way they want.

There are lots of reasons why a company may choose to deny access to their forum. One reason that any given public company may ban a particular IP address from accessing that company's website discussion forum is because they have identified that particular IP address as being associated with an individual who has shown a desire to do that company harm.

PVEC seems to define a "desire to do harm" as anyone who posts criticism of the company or even simply asks questions they don't want to answer.

I personally know of companies, unrelated to PVEC, that have banned particular IP addresses from accessing their websites for the above examples noted as well as others and any company that chooses to do so is well within its rights.

I doubt that you can cite even one example, let alone multiple examples, of public companies that block/ban people from reading supposedly public parts of its website as does PVEC.
