I sorry, you're wrong. Welfare makes up less than 5% of the Federal budget.

You can, however, afford a 10% flat tax by halting all Social Security and Medicare payments -- while continuing the Social Security and Medicare taxes.

Only when Social Security and Medicare is counted as welfare, does it make up a big enough number.


The War in Iraq alone has cost each citizen $3,800 so far -- or $15,200 for a family of four.

Compared that number to the median family income of $65,093 for a family of four in the U.S. The expense of the Iraq ware alone is 23% of income.

A 10% flat tax can't even support the war in Iraq, let alone anything else.
