RE: INSTITUTIONAL OWNERSHIP, EXPECTATIONS AND UPCOMING EARNINGS

I AGREE RON....

RE:INSTITUTIONS
RONS COMMENT:
" ..They generally won't whine but will sell in a minute, if things don't go right.

I have seen institutions change mgmt....and sell...or the next qtr. isn't clear ...sell...arbitration...sell...Didn't like the answer on the conference call...sell. etc.

Institutions are our best friend when their buying...but in today's world they often do not have the patience or the vision to stay the course. They are glad to book a profit and move on ... or renter at a lower level. Just like some individual investors.
NOTE...this is not true of all institutions...certainly HEARTLAND has been pretty good to us.

RONS COMMENT:
" I'm not sure, but I would guess that the vast majority of the tremendous selloff after the latest 10K was published came from institutional selling."

I think we had a fair share of individual investors partake in that debacle. Institutions may have begun and finished that little fiasco ... but individual investors certainly contributed..

RE: individual shareholders, Institutions,....EXPECTATIONS
and upcoming earnings

RONS COMMENT:
" IDCC has been fortunate in a way to have a large pool of loyal individual shareholders, who have kept giving management the benefit of the doubt year after year."

I being one of those investors have stayed the course as I recognized IDCC'S potential....but potential is not why I invested. I invested, as do institutions for results. I am less likely now more than ever to give "management the benefit of the doubt ". The ERICY litigation was a major quagmire for IDCC and while I was disappointed with the initial outcome, I understood the logic in moving on. The question that all of us want answered is.....What is the TRUE result?

Yes, I heard the conference call after the resolution in March and defended management's decision. The question is....What will be the TRUE result?

I have accepted at face value the representations by management of the "potential" Financial results...
TRUE results to be disclosed at a later date.
I along with many on this board have accepted in good "faith" these representations.
Institutions in the marketplace are not "faith" based. They along with members on this board will be awaiting a clear and positive picture this coming week. It is my hope that management appreciates the significance of this event. The message must be unambiquous...."clear and positive."
Anything short of that["clear and positive," ] with a stock having 40 50 60 percent institutional ownership would be treacherous. If two or three of your institutions don't like your story....with a stock like IDCC [Small float] you could potentially expect some devastating damage.

Awaiting the results....
HG: "We have a group, our licensing group, that has been diligently pursuing opportunities. They have been in discussions with multiple companies. You know, sometimes you push against the tide and it's real hard to swim against the tide and the tide that we've been pushing against for the last year and a half or so was a very unstable marketplace in telecom, as well as a sort of deadlock in your freezing effect of the Ericsson litigation."

PHILADELPHIA...........EXPECTATIONS.....
"The settlement, which will bring millions of dollars in licensing fees and royalties to InterDigital, is expected to lead the King of Prussia, Pa., company to similar arrangements with other mobile-phone makers."
-By Dinah Wisenberg Brin, Dow Jones Newswires; 215-656-8285; dinah.brin@dowjones.com

So........if the message is and continues to be unambiquous...."clear and positive." The institutions will come.......and be WELCOME ASSETS.

As always your comments and thoughts are appreciated. Alley
