I guess you mean the pattern day trader rules. That's got more to do with margin, and I almost never trade in my margin account. I trade options in an IRA, which makes financial advisors pee run cold, but simplifies the tax consequences of trading.

T+3 is another pesky rule regarding settlement of stocks that "day traders" run into, but that rule does not apply to options trading.
