Funny how there is some kind of resistance to the idea that the stock is news driven, when everyone is here waiting and hoping for.......none other than..........you guessed it - N E W S!
Investors aren't here waiting to see if a product sells, they're not here because the stock issues a dividend... They're here because they bet on the likelihood of certain NEW EVENTS.
Accordingly, any NEWS EVENT substantial enough to increase/decrease the speculative likelihood of the other NEWS EVENTS happening affects stock price.
This is simple stuff folks.
