The week in cloud: IT spending on cloud infrastructure and services will grow a healthy 20 percent to 172.4 billion next year, according to IHS Technology.

While researchers may differ on how much cloud spending will grow going forward, they all agree that it’s on the upswing — which is why IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, Microsoft et al are rushing to adapt to the new model and to cloud-first upstarts like Amazon Web Services
