Goncalves success came from running a metal supply warehouse (similar to a Ryerson).

Metals USA was successful from being one of the first companies that used the internet and many of it's sales came from people and not business's or fabricators. In other words if you wanted a piece of steel, alum or nickel where would you go? They provided the answer.

From that space, they them went into building products such as pre-made sun rooms, florida rooms or pool enclosures selling those through distribution to homeowners.

While Goncalves was very successful I'd still consider him a marketing guy and not a mineral resource guy.

Cliffs needs a financial guy at this point.
