I tend to treat the BiB and the WASP as two separate systems. I may be wrong about that, of course, but I don't think so. WSGI called the BiB a "platoon-level" asset--for ISR of course. I agree with you that a WASP is not reasonably deployable as a platoon-level asset. If it were a Brigade level asset (I don't think that high) even then there would be more than one IMO--perhaps not more than two but confidently more than one.

You will note that the Fort Bliss article said it had been deployed at the battalion level--by the 1st Battalion, of the 35th Armor Regiment of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Armored Division. With the modern paradigms of how much territory/length of front a battalion controls, my guess would be more like two per battalion. JMO. Of course we are creating a Table of Organization for a system that is still in acquisition. Just wanted to offer some food for thought. Best regards, IJO
