I'll take one Linus Torvalds or Michael Abrash over 100 mediocre software engineers. Those are the kinds of folks you're competing with.
Errmm...Abrash actually worked at Intel for a while before Valve Software got him
Intel also seems to attract quite a few of the graphics industry's top researchers.
