Three things that stood out for me in today's presentation.....
1) The fact that DCVax has been used in esophageal cancer and in Merkel cell carcinoma. Some time early last year, if I remember right, Larry Smith had mentioned he had heard of the use of DCVax in the latter, but the use of DCVax in the former, I haven't heard of before.
2) We are likely to draw upon the German grant in the next few weeks and we have about 2 dozen technically trained staff ready for the start of the German trial. I think this is vital for us to meet our enrollment end point. The number of technical personnel recruited also strengthens my feel that German centres are likely to come online at a fast clip and not in a trickle.
3) The strong emphasis on efficacy in the DCVax-Direct trial and not trying to play it safe by making it look like a trial only to gauge safety and dosage.
Net-net, I agree with the observations that timelines gave been stretched. I hope this will be the final timeline. My confidence in that will increase when German trial centres begin recruiting. On DCVax-Direct, I think we'd be kept informed every 45-60 days and given the range of cancers we are treating, the information, if positive, should be very interesting.
Overall, I'm ok with today's presentation, provided they can execute. Particularly on Germany. If that can happen by Jan-end/Feb, I think we'd have built a solid foundation where progress on multiple fronts can be reported over the next 6-9 months.
