Provenge as a therapy is not a failure. Provenge as a business, to date has been a failure though. While it is finally starting to make some money, it still isn't covering costs associated with it. All of the noise surrounding it has been about the business side, but those who have been screaming it is a failure won't distinguish between efficacy and business, thus blurring the line of total failure.

As far as Provenge's approval process, that is an interesting read. I believe it was Richard Pasdur who stuck his nose in and delayed approval. The scary part about that is he is still in charge at the FDA.
