You don't see a generation being raised on non-Wintel as a threat to Wintel?

No. I see a generation raised on handhelds as a threat to Windows.

That is why I want Intel to diversify x86 onto as many other OSes
as possible as quickly as possible in *every* form factor.

For all intents and purposes, Windows IS Wintel.

That doesn't mean I'm saying Wintel = Intel. Sure, Intel can/does/will support other platforms... But these platforms will not be locked into Intel like Windows effectively is.

Perhaps we just differ in our opinion of how well Intel can compete without the Wintel monopoly tipping the scale heavily in its favor.

Personally I don't see Intel holding ARM/etc. completely at bay in its higher-margin markets... IMHO the higher the margins, the higher the probability that ARM/etc. will encroach and the margins will shrink, a double-whammy for Intel.
