Gollum, I think there will be much complaining about Intel's compilers in the future. Many have begun to take for granted the performance and "free ride" that AMD has had with Intel's compilers on their code. Once the "free ride" ends, people will begin pointing the finger at Intel, as if it's their duty to support AMD's processor ramp. This will even be more of a shock once people move from Intel's compiler in 32-bit over to PGI's or GNU's compiler for 64-bit. When they notice less performance in many applications, the finger pointing will get even more pronounced.
