Wialan Technologies Inc (WLAN)

Talking about applications, here's a question for anyone good with technology out there. I read something interesting a few days ago, I thought right away about Wialan. http://www.forbes.com/sites/tristanlouis/2013/12/07/the-iwallet-is-coming/
This article talks about the new ibeacon technology that Apple acquired.
I am not technology savvy to the extent of figuring out how they could include this in one of their hermetically sealed wifi boxes or WEWS but I was just thinking...could this be useful to them? If localizing can be this precise, it has to be helpful in the event of a natural disaster...
