At the end of the day, the spleen enlargement is a symptom, not the cause of the disease. So personally I would be less fussy about whether the spleen reduced by 35% or 25% than a marrow CR. If you really do fix the marrow, the spleen should follow along.
Note that a marrow "CR" by itself is not really a complete cure because the definition still allows for some abnormal cells and a bit of fibrosis. And you still could have some molecular abnormalities - it's not nearly as accurate a measure as you get in CML say. Conceivably you could even get marrow that looks perfectly normal but still has some mutations that cause some symptoms to persist.
