The turnkey machine means that all of the thousands of suppliers to GM, Ford, Chrysler, and even Toyota can bid on jobs using LM where appropriate.
CNC machines require huge capital, supporting infrastructure machine maintenance, waste metal disposal, coolant, long setups, constant quality checks, highly skilled operators, loading raw material, unloading finished part, constant replenishment of tools and/or tooling inserts. This is not a complete list by far.
To spit out molded LM parts. You need Turnkey machine, LM raw material, semi-skilled operators, molds, water jet machine to remove gates and runners.
Then, when you need to make another type of part you simply change molds. It does not get easier or cheaper.
