The CEO said that he'd gotten countless of questions (via phone & email), and he was responding to them to clear things up. So you're damning him for responding and clearing things up once and for all, including critical speculation by people like you? And if he just kept silent and appeared that he could care less about retail stock holder questions, would you damn him for being silent?
