Nokia and China Putian signed an agreement to set up a joint venture to focus on R&D, manufacturing and sales of 3G network solutions for TD-SCDMA and WCDMA technologies. Through this joint venture the two companies will provide 3G products and solutions to their customers.
The new company, with an investment of more than $100 million, will be based in Beijing. Siemens mobile will hold 51 percent of the venture and Huawei will hold the remaining 49 percent.The company will develop, manufacture and market TD-SCDMA technology.
The new joint venture -- T3G Technology Co Ltd -- was established by Datang Mobile Communications Equipment Co Ltd, Dutch chip maker Philips Electronics Co and South Korean handset producer Samsung Electronics Co. It will produce TD-SCDMA chipsets and reference designs for Datang TD-SCDMA 3G mobile standard.
Alcatel Shanghai Bell (ASB) and Datang Mobile concluded a strategic partnership agreement Thursday to jointly develop the TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) standard both in China and internationally.
T3G Technology Co. Ltd has recently secured Motorola one if its new investors—adding the company to its list of high-profile telecom partners such as Philips, Datang and Samsung. With the help of Motorola Ventures, the company will develop TD-SCDMA chips for mobile handsets.
Ericsson and ZTE jointly announced today the signing of a strategic
alliance agreement to deliver TD-SCDMA solutions for China. Under the
agreement, Ericsson and ZTE will commence close technical cooperation
in the TD-SCDMA area.
