Project Update - October 10 By Cirque Admin | October 10, 2013 at 11:31 AM EDT | 2 comments This Cirque Energy Blog update provides an update on current endeavors.
Oakland University CHP Project – This project was for a new 4.6MW natural gas combined heat and power (CHP) project for Oakland University. The project was awarded on October 7 to Chevron Energy Solutions. The Cirque Energy team came in second place. There were five other bidders, with Chevron, Cirque, and Honeywell short-listed for final interviews. Our team plans to take knowledge learned in this opportunity to apply them for other CHP opportunities in the municipal, university, school, and hospital market.
Green Harvest Landfill – A current focus remains the acquisition of the former Richfield Landfill in Davison, Michigan. We have completed our plans for the CAP amendment. This has allowed us to finalize our capital and operating budgets for the project. Tigress Financial Partners is working diligently to secure total project funding for the acquisition, capital improvements, equipment and operating overheads. Our objective is to secure the landfill acquisition before end this quarter.
Detroit C&D Operation – The City of Detroit has over 90,000 vacant and derelict structures that need to be demolished or rehabilitated. We are currently in discussions to obtain firm contracts for disposal of C&D waste. Our plan is to construct a C&D recycling center for repurpose and recovery of C&D wastes, as well as future energy production. We have identified a project site, are finalizing business plans, and expect to pursue bond financing for the facility with a goal of operations in 2014.
Detroit Public Schools – Cirque Energy is currently completing an energy audit for a CHP system and energy conservation measures for a multi-school campus in Detroit, Michigan. We are in discussions with the school system on performing a pilot project to provide DPS with stable energy costs and a lower overall energy footprint. DPS currently operates over 100 school buildings.
We additionally have several other early stage projects in our development pipeline. We remain confident and committed to deliver successful energy projects for our customers and shareholders. http://www.cirque-energy.com/cirqueblog.php
