Antithrombin can cause bleeding when too much is used, but this is true of any antcoagulant.
I would be concerned if ATryn caused more bleeding than a comparable amount of plasma-derived AT, but this has never been observed or suggested to my knowledge. The sepsis trial in question used only plasma-derived AT.
