Brokeback Mountain - Theater..........What a film!!! I saw this in an Arts Theater, oddly enough only playing in three locations in the entire city. It was packed; don't know if there was an open seat. Gyllenhaal and Ledger were superb, but so was the rest of the cast. I am telling you, Jake needs to get some recognition, as he did another fine job having just been in Jarhead and really pulling that one off splendidly.
This is a love story set in 1963 about two cowboys that keep it a secret from their families for 15+ years. Much more to it, but I don't want to give any away. Ang Lee has probably won himself a best picture and possibly best director Oscar. Not sure what other awards will be won, I will need to see the nominations first to guess. A sympathetic film, a lot of wet cheeks and sniffles from the crowd. I will see it again, as it is definitely in my top four movies this year. Quick side note, the scenery in Wyoming was absolutely breathtaking (I need to make a trip back there).
3.86 pickles out of 4, this may save the awards.
