Very good research Zum,
This was a provisional patent that has since expired but looks of good info to glean off of the claims. It helped create application 13/735660 labeled as Comp and Meth of lowering high-sens CRP which is specifically focused on Hs-Crp and a few other inflammatory markers. It currently covers Trigs of 150-499 and will be used alongside the big 3 statins. It looks like it will have some restrictions eventually coming down the pipeline with such a varied focus but what they are doing is what I have been focusing on the last two weeks: INFLAMMATORY MARKERS!
JL and many others here have been about a year ahead of the curve that THIS is really what V is all about.
I've been saying for some time that a) We have to separate ourselves from the other omega 3's and not be considered a "fish oil". I think we will gain much needed separation at the upcoming ad com. b) There has to be a paradigm shift (which has started taking baby steps) that treating inflammation is the standard for preventative dz. We have to show real and repeatable studies that EPA at 90% plus purity has substantial effects on Cardiac inflammatory biomarkers. Of course Reduce-It is the true tell-tale but we wont be seeing that until probably late into 2016. In the mean time if we can SAFELY decrease inflammatory markers and the key is SAFELY and develop this shift toward preventing inflammation, then we will have a large pop of physicians using V extra label once the paradigm shift takes place that preventing CVD can be enhanced by using V. The sky could truly be the limit on this company.
I have started collecting thoughts that I might share at the Ad Com focusing on synergistic effects of V with statins, safety profile, studies centered around inflammatory markers (lp-pla2, ox-ldl levels etc) that I can share in a 10 minute period, Jelis Study, etc. that I can share in a 10 minute period,. I may not get to speak since it will probably be a lottery situation.
