One of the problems here is the Patent office and the fact they pretty much will hand out a patent for anything and everything. Creating all sorts of patent infringement lawsuits from trolls just making a living off lawsuits.

Yes. The government is interested in "working on" patent reform; but of course there'll have to be agreement by both parties, but it looks as if something may actually be done.
