SAC (as far as I know) never tried to move the market with false rumors or the like. They were just traders who took every edge (and then some) available.

You bet this will make other large funds think twice about taking advantage of anything even vaguely smelling of inside information. The small fry might not be influenced that much, but the heavyweights will certainly take notice.
