The numbers of African Americans lynched during the period in question were, of course, higher around 3400 to 5000.
But the Latino group in the United States was much smaller then(and the Mexican American group smaller still), so that the
rate of lynching for the two groups was similar.

Although Chloe exaggerated, relatively speaking the numbers are similar.
