You're missing the point, the money would have had a long paper trail back to the "promoter" because the public company would have records showing where they paid the funds to and for what services. There are no such ways to hide this type of activity so regardless of what this "promoter" did with the funds AFTER the fact the money would still trace back to him, so no matter what he did there was traceability. So I ask you again how could he launder money from a public company that has a paper trail so long?
