Seems like a nice "land" but it's another high dollar hit to the payroll without any indication how that salary is getting covered. Because, you know, sales. As far as the outside world knows, this is a $4-5mm company with an obscenely top-heavy executive structure and not a single noteworthy buttoned-up deal to point to. At least that's how it looks to me. If I were just introduced to this company as a potential investment without the years of acquaintance I have, I would move on after a two-minute review. Honestly, I would man-hug and buy a Cuban cigar and a 20-year old single malt for anyone who can show me news that actually has real meat on its bones. It's nice that they can attract old vets to the organization. Unless that old vet is on the downslope of his career, just looking for a steady check for as long as he can get it. I'd rather see a slew of cut-throat, commission-only sales sharks loosed on the world closing $20K sales all over Central America, Eastern Europe and South America than another "insider helping us build to a grand future." The LED space is moving too fast for all of this measured preparation. Cocktail time.
