Derx Here is one from the archives. Some of the longs might remember this one.
As you know ,CTC Wind/cable is not a new venture. Just CTC trying to pick up before the BK and CC bull started.
Kansas Wind Power and Padoma Wind Power Form Joint VentureTo Develop 500 MW Of Wind Energy Projects

Overland Park, KS - January 21, 2003 - Today Kansas Wind Power and Padoma Wind Power announced the establishment of a joint venture to develop, finance, and construct 500 MW of wind energy projects over the next three years. The projects will be located primarily in Kansas but also in other parts of the Mid West, in some of the best wind locations in the country. The companies intend to develop a range of projects to meet the needs of both rural communities and large metropolitan areas in the region. Over 20 sites have already been selected and are in various stages of development for this purpose.

"Kansas has the potential to become a center for renewable energy, especially in wind, and we have dedicated the rest of our lives to making this happen", said Troy Helming, President and CEO of Kansas Wind Power. "We have been working for some time to identify sites with excellent wind resource, available transmission, and minimal environmental impact, and are now entering a time of implementation and expansion. By partnering with Padoma, we have a team with over 65 years of direct experience in wind development and financing working with us toward this goal. Having Padoma as part of our team virtually ensures successful completion of any wind projects we undertake. After researching numerous experienced wind companies, we realized the top prospective partner would be Padoma: they're the best of the best."

"We are entering into this joint venture on the basis of the unique dedication, innovation and impressive organizational capabilities demonstrated by the Kansas Wind Power team", said Jan C. Paulin, President and CEO of Padoma Wind Power, "and we are convinced that the region's enormous wind potential combined with the tremendous synergies between our two organizations will enable us to jointly become very successful in developing high quality, utility grade wind projects in the region.

We have been considering expanding our activities into the "wind states" of the Midwest for quite some time, and partnering with Kansas Wind Power provides the best possible way for us to accomplish that".

"It is time for our great nation to get serious about reducing our dependence on foreign sources of energy. Kansas could power roughly one-third of the nation with our wind potential. Add wind potential from the other parts of the region in which we have chosen to operate, and this region could power the entire country. The Midwest, America's Heartland, provides huge amounts of our country's food supply - why not also farm our winds to provide huge amounts of energy? This exciting joint venture with Padoma Wind Power, combined with our existing joint venture with Composite Technology Corporation to upgrade strained transmission lines, now provides us with all the resources we need to make this vision a reality," says Helming. "With the expected renewal by Congress of the Production Tax Credit along with a possible federal Renewable Portfolio Standard in this year's Energy Bill, our two companies are extremely well positioned to capitalize on the momentum sweeping the nation to embrace new renewable energy sources."
