Icahn questions if Google best Time Warner partner

NEW YORK, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Carl Icahn said on Monday that he told Time Warner Inc.'s (TWX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) board it could be on the verge of a "disastrous decision" following reports it is in talks to sell a 5 percent stake of its AOL Internet unit to Google Inc. (GOOG.O: Quote, Profile, Research).

Icahn, whose group has a 3.1 percent stake in Time Warner, said he was concerned whether a Google pact would preclude a merger or other type of deal with companies such as eBay Inc. (EBAY.O: Quote, Profile, Research) , Yahoo Inc. (YHOO.O: Quote, Profile, Research) or Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) .
