The desire for eternal life was put in the heart of humankind by their
Creator - that is why death is called an enemy -
No one would ever say I am so happy I wish I was dead -
No one wants to die - except in very painful circumstances -

God almighty , Jehovah , does not consider that desire selfish
But one to strive for as stated in John 17:3 and 3:16-
Adam would never had died had he should love and appreciation
For his Creator for all he was given to enjoy forever-

Instead he willfully showed disregard for the property of God
He was not to eat knowing the consequences - he had no reason to
Disobey a specific command - he had no need of that fruit -
It indicated a wicked heart condition set in rebellion for completely
Reasons - being perfect his action was willful and knowingly
Thus he had no sorrow for what he did - in fact he blamed his wife -
And His Creator saying he gave her to him -

He sinned. Sin in Hebrew meaning missing the mark -
His complete selfishness caused him to miss the mark of perfection
Set down by his Creator - thus he lost that perfection with the result being
Eventual death - back to dust forever -

He chose to rebel against his Creator - his only source of life -
So brought imperfection and death inheritantly
To his offspring as Romans chapter 5 explains -

Because his unborn offspring had no choice in his decision to
Rebel - almighty God could justly extend them mercy and undeserved kindness
(Grace) by arranging for a legal and just ransom - the
Provision of the sacrifice of another perfect life equal to Adam -
That is what John 3:16 tells about -
So faith in that loving redeemer for what he did for humankind
Can result in everlasting life - that gift Adam forfeited to sin -
We are encouraged to seek it in John 17:3 -
